Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a 4 years and 6 months degree program under the prestigious banner of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (Nashik). Maharashtra Institute of Physiotherapy has intake capacity of 60. Being attach to the multidisciplinary hospital students has excellent opportunity to explore and develop their clinical skills.
History:
MAEER’S Maharashtra Institute of Physiotherapy Latur, was established in August 2005. This institute is one of the branches of well known “Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER) Pune". MIPT, Latur is offering Bachelor (BPhT), Masters (MPTh) and Doctoral (PhD) Physiotherapy programs. MIPT, Latur is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The institute is situated in MIMSR Medical College Campus, which is spread over an area of 4,65,000 sq ft. The present premises consist of institute building, Hospital building, separate boys’ and girls’ hostel, staff quarters and play ground. Departments includes Orthopaedic/Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Neuro-Physiotherapy, Community Physiotherapy, Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy, Paediatric Physiotherapy, Sports Physiotherapy, Electrotherapy, exercise Therapy and, Therapeutic Gymnasium along with dissection hall, ICT enabled class rooms, central library, departmental library, digital library are some of the special features of the institute.

About Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists are health care professionals with a significant role in health promotion and treatment of injury and diseases. They combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability.
All physiotherapists registered to practice are qualified to provide safe and effective physiotherapy. They have met national entry-level education and practice standards, and have successfully passed a standardized physiotherapy competence examination.
Scope of Practice of Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is an essential part of the health and community/welfare services delivery system. Physiotherapists practice independently of other health care/service providers and also within multidisciplinary rehabilitation/habilitation programmes to prevent, gain, maintain or restore optimal function and quality of life in individuals with loss and disorders of movement. Physiotherapists are guided by their own code of ethical principles.
Career Opportunities
Currently there is demand for Physiotherapy specialty, opportunities are excellent. Graduates with this qualification are recognized throughout India and abroad. Physiotherapy is delivered in a variety of settings which allow it to achieve its purpose.
