The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a dedicated body within educational institutions, particularly in higher education, that focuses on enhancing and maintaining the quality of education and institutional processes.

Composition: The IQAC has been constituted at MIPT, Latur under the chairmanship of head of the institution with heads of important academic and administrative units and a few teachers and a few distinguished educationists/ representatives of local committee. The composition of the IQAC is as follows:

  • Chairperson : Head of the Institution
  • Teachers to represent all level (Three )
  • One member from the Management
  • Few senior administrative officers
  • One nominee each from local society, Students and Alumni
  • One nominee each from Employers /Industrialists / stakeholders
  • One of the senior teachers as the Co-ordinator / Director of the IQAC

IQAC helps the colleges in planning and monitoring. IQAC also gives stakeholders or beneficiaries a cross-sectional participation in the institution’s quality enhancement activities. The guidelines given here are only indicative and will help the institutions for quality sustenance activities. It is necessary for the members of the IQAC to shoulder the responsibilities of generating and promoting awareness in the institution and to devote time for working out the procedural details. While selecting these members several precautions need to be taken. 5. Compliance with Standards: Ensure adherence to national and international accreditation standards and guidelines.

6. Improvement Initiatives: Identify areas for improvement and implement measures to enhance the quality of teaching, learning, and administrative practices.

7. Training and Development: Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions for faculty and staff to promote quality awareness and skill development.

8. Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments and committees to foster a culture of continuous improvement across the institution.

9. Student Support: Address student concerns and grievances related to academic and administrative processes.

10. Resource Management: Ensure effective utilization of resources to support quality initiatives and projects.

Functions:

1. Quality Assurance Framework: Develop a comprehensive quality assurance framework that includes policies, procedures, and guidelines.

2. Periodic Reviews: Conduct periodic reviews and audits of academic programs, administrative processes, and institutional services.

3. Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement strategic plans for enhancing institutional quality and achieving long-term goals.

4.Benchmarking: Establish benchmarks and performance indicators to measure the institution's progress and success in various areas.

5. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including students, faculty, alumni, and industry experts, to gather input and insights for quality improvement.

6. Internal Assessments: Carry out internal assessments and self-evaluations to prepare for external accreditation reviews and inspections.

7. Quality Circles: Create quality circles or committees to address specific issues and develop solutions for quality enhancement.

8. Best Practices: Identify and promote best practices in teaching, learning, and administrative processes.

9. Innovation and Research: Encourage and support innovative practices and research activities that contribute to institutional quality.

10.Documentation and Evidence: Maintain comprehensive documentation and evidence of quality assurance activities to support accreditation and review processes.
